To ensure that scientific research of immediate concern is shared as rapidly as possible, we fast-track accepted articles from the IJTLD and PHA and publish them as edited preprints prior to publication in a journal.

This Earth Day, we highlight two preprints accepted for the June issue of PHA. The articles by Sinha et al. and Harries and co-authors discuss the impact health care services have on climate, and the likely increased incidence of TB resulting from climate change.
Sinha et al. focus on the important issue of food security and nutrition and the risk these pose to increasing TB incidence and mortality. Harries and colleagues stress the importance of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in ending the TB epidemic by 2030 – and that urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts (SDG 13) is also vital.
Both articles recommend acting on these pathways now, so we can buttress TB elimination efforts to reduce the impact of climate change.
