American Friends of The Union

Created in 2023, The American Friends fights for the eradication of tuberculosis and other lung diseases, primarily through support of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union).

The charity was established by Union members, including a former President and Board members.

Funds raised by the American Friends will directly support the activities of The Union, including:

  • International conferences, attracting researchers, advocates and scientists from across the globe
  • Three journals, disseminating the latest knowledge in lung health
  • A wide range of in-person and online courses to improve clinical expertise
  • Technical assistance to governments, agencies and other organizations fighting TB and lung disease
  • Demonstration and implementation projects designed to test TB advances in real-world situations
