In 2026, it is unacceptable that 10 million people still develop tuberculosis and 1.25 million people die from this infectious disease. Such inequity must not be tolerated – TB is not a fact of life.
Collectively we must demand more from our government and local leaders, as they must do more to protect us from TB.
As part of The Union's World TB Day 2026 campaign, a letter template has been created to help communities and advocates to start the engagement process with those responsible for keeping them safe, like local government leader, members of parliament and ministers of health.
The template is designed as a formal letter, but could be used to engage leaders through other channels, like social media.
