Open Access (OA)
IJTLD OPEN is fully compliant with the OA policy of Coalition S. Articles are made Open Access at the time of online publication. All Open Access articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted reuse, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
Authors retain full copyright and are welcome to use their article in any way they see fit (e.g., depositing their article in institutional repositories, ResearchGate/Mendeley, or distributing to colleagues as a PDF).
Article processing charge (APC)
There is a charge of €2,300 for Original Articles and Mini-Reviews. Editorials, Letters, Case Studies and Correspondence can be made Open Access for €1,750. These charges are to cover our costs of peer review, editing, typesetting, publishing and hosting.
The Union is a not-for-profit organisation and at times we can provide a discount to authors in low income countries but this is the exception and not the rule. Instead, we support the IJTLD as a free-to-publish model for authors in LMICs.
Colour Figures
There are no charges for colour figures, but authors are reminded to be mindful of how the figure will appear if printed in black and white.
Excess Page Charges
Authors are required to meet our Journal requirements for article length as set out in the Instructions to Authors.
If an article exceed these requirements, an excess page charge of 375€ per page is applied for each page over six journal pages for Original articles and 8 journal pages for State of the Art. Authors can include additional tables and figures as online Supplementary Data (see below).
Supplementary Data
Additional text, tables and figures can be included as Supplementary Data, which is published alongside the PDF of the article. Please note, this material should be carefully prepared as it will not be copyedited by IJTLD staff. This should be referred to in the body text as Supplementary Data Figure S1, or Table S1 etc.
The material should be submitted in PDF format at the time the original version of the manuscript is submitted for peer review, clearly labelled Supplementary Data. In 2025, there is a charge of €325 per 10 pp to host.
