Pediatric HIV management training held in Myanmar

More than 50 doctors participated in the two-day Union course.

The Union recently offered a two-day course on clinical management of HIV in children in Mandalay, Myanmar. More than 50 doctors participated in the course, which was designed to help them effectively address the special clinical challenges faced by young HIV patients and the physicians who treat them. The participants came from the Divisions and States in Myanmar and the National AIDS Programme.

The course was organised by The Union Office in Myanmar in collaboration with PENTA/ESPIDTr@inforPedHIV and the Department of Health, Ministry of Health. Opening speeches were given by Dr Philippe Clevenbergh, Director of The Union Office in Myanmar; Prof Carlo Giaquinto of PENTA; and Dr Moe Swe, Regional Health Director.
