Low- and middle-income country delegates attending the upcoming 5th Conference of The Union Asia-Pacific Region may apply for sponsorship to participate in a full-day Operational Research Skills Workshop to be held on Sunday, 30 August 2015. The workshop is part of the programme of the APR conference, which will take place at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney, Australia on 31 August to 2 September.

The 75 sponsored places are offered by the Structured Operational Research and Trainining Initiative (SORT-IT) in collaboration with the APR conference organisers.

About the workshop: This full-day workshop introduces participants to the key elements of the WHO-Union-MSF (SORT IT) operational research course. This course is presented in three modules over a year and takes participants through all stages of an operational research project from designing a research protocol to producing a paper for submission to a peer-reviewed journal. Presentations will cover each part of the research process and will be followed by an interactive panel discussion.

Eligibility: To qualify for sponsorship, applicants need to be registered to attend the 5th Conference of The Union Asia Pacific Region and reside in a country defined by the World Bank as a low- or middle-income economy. Interested persons are advised to register for the conference by 21 August.
