Posters from various international and national non-governmental organisations and government organisations were exhibited in the event hall. The Union also participated in this exhibition. Essay, painting and cartoon contests were held to mark World AIDS Day, and officials awarded winners their prizes at the event. As an "edu-tainment" activity, university students also performed a play; and automobiles decorated with messages and the slogan of World AIDS Day drove around the city to raise awareness within the community.
The Union shared information about its programmes with local government by providing a printed booklet "Public-Private Sector Collaboration: the example of the integrated HIV care programme in Myanmar." This was given directly to the Chief Minister of Mandalay Regional Government during the event. In the booklet, The Union's IHC programmes are explained in a simple way. The authorities were quite interested in the booklet, and they requested for more copies to share with other authorities.
The Union was also mentioned in the local newspaper, The Mirror, regarding the provision of ARV. In that article, the writer also talked about active participation of PLHIV volunteers and the collaboration of physicians in IHC programme. Though "Getting to Zero" is very enthusiastic goal, The Union is making an important contribution to reaching it through its approach: "in, by and with the public sector."
