Reflecting on the past year, we extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated learners who joined us in our mission to combat tuberculosis through education and training. In 2024, the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) organised 29 training events, both in-person and online, totalling 450 hours of training. Nearly 3,000 individuals from around the world participated, gaining valuable knowledge and skills to better serve their communities.
Our courses covered various topics related to tuberculosis (TB) care and prevention, addressing key challenges and best practices in TB management. Through these diverse educational initiatives, The Union continued to support healthcare professionals, TB program managers and researchers worldwide. In 2025, The Union is set to offer five international courses focusing on basic TB, child and adolescent TB, and drug-resistant TB. Some of these courses will also be available in French. These courses include an in-person component, which requires a course fee. However, recognising the current uncertainty in international funding for health projects, The Union is dedicated to expanding its range of free online courses. This initiative aims to ensure that healthcare workers in low- and middle-income countries can access essential training.
