Scientific Chair of The Union World Conference on Lung Health

The Union is looking for an individual with recognised stature in the field of lung health to serve as Scientific Chair of The Union World Conference on Lung Health 2025-2027.

The Chair must be a content expert in Lung Health and requires management acumen, the ability to work with professional and non-professional staff members both paid and volunteer, expertise in delegating authority, coordinating activities, and following up on details.

The Conference Chair’s key responsibilities include:

1. Chairing the Conference Scientific Committee and working collaboratively with the Conference Director and Conference Secretariat team
2. Ensuring that a well-balanced, high-quality scientific programme is organised and presented at the conference
   1. Develop the conference’s call for abstracts and other session submissions
   2. Oversight of the abstract mentorship programme
   3. Oversight of the peer review process
   4. Oversight of the abstract/session selection process
   5. Develop plenary session outlines and invite appropriate speakers
   6. Contribute to the planning of the Opening and Closing ceremonies
   7. Coordinate the rapporteur report session
