A HEALTHIER WORLD FOR ALL

The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease strives to end suffering due to tuberculosis and lung diseases

News from #UnionConf – July 2025

The Union World Conference on Lung Health will be accepting submissions for Late-Breaker Sessions until 22 July. New, innovative and significant findings of broad interest that have occurred after 13 April 2025, or for which information has just become available, should be submitted.

Meanwhile, we are also accepting submissions for Community Connect engagement activities until 20 July, including art, photography, films, workshops, posters, workshops and live performances.

A gentle reminder that applications for scholarships for presenters of abstracts and invited symposia speakers as well as sponsored registrations for civil society and individuals working in lung health are warmly encouraged until 13 July.

A reflection on 2024

From changing WHO guidelines and identifying key improvements to drug-resistant TB management, to being awarded grants from the Global Fund in Myanmar and the Gates Foundation for an active case finding project in India to delivering another fantastic Union Conference.

After such an impressive year for The Union, Dr Cassandra Kelly-Cirino and Prof Guy Marks look back at everything we have accomplished in 2024.

The Impact of our work

The Union is the world’s first global health organisation, founded in 1920. We are a global leader in ending TB, we fight the tobacco industry, and we solve key problems in treating major diseases.

NGOsource Equivalency Determination

The Union has been certified by NGOsource to be equivalent to a U.S. public charity.
