World Conference on Tobacco Control

For the past 58 years, the World Conference on Tobacco Control (formerly the World Conference on Tobacco or Health – WCTOH) has been the premier international forum on tobacco control. The Conference promotes global collaboration and knowledge sharing and strives for a collective resolution to fight tobacco by working together and integrating tobacco control into our health and development goals. 

The first Conference took place in 1967 in New York, USA and 400 people attended the Conference representing nearly 40 countries. 

In 2025, 1,300 people from 88 countries attended the Conference in Dublin, Ireland. 

Bringing the tobacco control community together

To inspire and connect civil society and governments to increase priority and resources for tobacco control, to drive WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) and MPOWER implementation globally, through sharing data, information and new evidence and coordinating research agendas and advocacy best practices. 

World Conference on Tobacco Control 2025

The World Conference on Tobacco Control 2025 took place from 23-25 June 2025, in the vibrant city of Dublin, Ireland. This Conference served as a pivotal gathering for tobacco control experts, policymakers, and advocates from around the globe, providing a unique opportunity to share insights and learn about the latest evidence and expertise in tobacco control. 

The Conference was organised by the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union) and supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the World Health Organization

The 1,300 delegates from around the world united in a call to action for global health to confront the global tobacco epidemic. The Dublin Declaration, signed on 25 June, is a bold and urgent call to governments worldwide to accelerate the implementation of all measures in the WHO FCTC.
