Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. Christmas Seal 2024

The aims and objectives of the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. (PTSI)

Founded in July 1910, the Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. (PTSI) is committed to becoming a leading partner in the elimination of tuberculosis in the Philippines, contributing to improved quality of life for Filipinos and to the nation’s socio-economic development. Recognizing the rising burden of tuberculosis in the country – contrasting with declining incidence in neighbouring nations – PTSI, in its 115th anniversary, aims to accelerate its growth and impact over the next five years, guided by the theme “From Vision to Velocity”.

To fulfil this mission, PTSI will focus on the following strategic areas:

  • Service Delivery – expanding and optimizing end-to-end TB services through a hub-and-spoke model, mobile screening teams, and the use of innovative diagnostic technologies.
  • Community Approaches – building strong local partnerships to implement active case finding, contact tracing, and social support programs in high-burden areas.
  • Research – developing a health research agenda and strengthening internal research capacity to drive evidence-based strategies and innovations.
  • Training – positioning PTSI as a recognized training centre that builds the capabilities of health workers and community partners across the TB care cascade.

What the Christmas Seal design represents

The 2025 TB Seals carry the theme “Philippine National Treasures”, a celebration of the country’s vibrant cultural heritage and artistic excellence. This year’s collection features the works of 37 esteemed Filipino artists who have long been creative partners of PTSI—many of whom have contributed not only to past TB seals but also to special commissioned artworks that have become the very foundation and inspiration of this year’s seal series.

Each miniature masterpiece showcases a significant facet of the Philippines’ rich and diverse culture, drawn from across our more than 7,000 islands. From the Bululs of the Cordilleras, ancient wooden deities believed to bless the people with abundant harvests; to the Sarimanok of Mindanao, the legendary colorful bird symbolizing prosperity and good fortune; to our enduring devotion to Christ, reflecting the deep faith of a predominantly Christian nation at the heart of Asia; and the iconic Jeepney, a symbol of Filipino ingenuity and resilience—these images represent the beauty, strength, and spirit of our people.

As PTSI embarks on a new strategic chapter, these seals stand as more than just artworks. They are powerful emblems of solidarity and hope, reminding us that protecting our cultural treasures must go hand in hand with safeguarding our greatest treasure of all—the health and future of every Filipino.

What the Christmas Seal sales support

Proceeds from the sale of PTSI’s TB seals help sustain vital programs and services. These funds are used to support TB advocacy initiatives and community health programs in the eight local government units where the PTSI branch clinics operate.

The Philippine Tuberculosis Society, Inc. first produced Christmas Seals in 1910, the year it was founded.
