Taiwan Anti-Tuberculosis Association Christmas Seal 2025

The aims and objectives of the Taiwan Anti-Tuberculosis Association

The Taiwan Anti-Tuberculosis Association is dedicated to supporting individuals affected by tuberculosis, promoting TB prevention and health education, and raising public awareness of the disease. By working with organizations and individuals nationwide, the Association strives to advance TB control and improve public health.

In support of World Tuberculosis Day 2025 and its theme, “Yes! We Can End TB: Commit, Invest, Deliver,” Taiwan Centers for Disease Control reaffirms the nation’s commitment to eliminating tuberculosis by securing resources, strengthening prevention programs, and fostering cross-sector collaboration to achieve the goal of ending TB. The Taiwan Anti-Tuberculosis Association echoes this commitment by working with Taiwan CDC, raising TB awareness, and turning pledges into action.

What the Christmas Seal design represents

Yushan, also known as Jade Mountain, is the tallest mountain in Taiwan, standing 3,952 meters above sea level. It is not only Taiwan's highest summit but also one of the country's most iconic landmarks. Every year, numerous hikers are drawn to Yushan to witness its breathtaking scenery and unpredictable climate.

While breathing feels effortless at sea level, it becomes far more challenging at high altitudes. As the thinner air limits oxygen intake, proper breathing techniques become essential for climbers. Taking deep, open-mouthed breaths allows air to remain in the lungs for a more extended period, supporting more effective oxygen exchange. During exhalation, fully compressing the chest can also help reduce the risk of altitude sickness.

What the Christmas Seal sales support

All proceeds from the Christmas Seal fundraising support the Directly Observed Treatment program established by the Taiwan CDC. The funds provide living allowances to underprivileged individuals undergoing TB treatment.

The Taiwan Anti-Tuberculosis Association first produced Christmas Seals in 1954.
