A new guide co-published by The Union outlines how to measure the success of laws banning tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship (TAPS).

Assessing Compliance with TAPS Bans: a 'How-to Guide for Conducting Compliance Studies is designed for advocates working to strengthen implementation of tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship (TAPS) laws. It presents step-by-step information about how to plan and conduct studies to assess compliance with laws that address point-of-sale advertising and product displays, outdoor advertising, and product packaging. Sample data collection tools are included in the appendix.

Published by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids and The Union, the guide is available at no charge in English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, Portuguese and Russian.
