There is a clear need to scale up the response to the challenges TB co-infection presents. Collaborative treatment is key to reducing the burden of TB and other diseases. In recognition of this issue, The Union and partners will host a full-day workshop ‘Integrated Care and Research for Tuberculosis, Diabetes and HIV/AIDS: Challenges, Strategies and Clinical Solutions’, which will focus discussion on TB co-infections and their treatment as an essential strategy to ending TB.
Organised by The Union, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the Gates Foundation, the workshop will be held on 24 October, just prior to the 47th Union World Conference on Lung Health, in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
All interested participants are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please contact Prof Lin Yan at ylin@theunion.org or Dr Jing Bao at baoj@niaid.nih.gov for more information.
