The World Health Organization (WHO) has today launched a new community-driven platform - the Knowledge Action Portal (KAP) - for information about noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), interaction and inspiration.
Hosted by the WHO Global Coordination Mechanism on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases (GCM/NCD), the platform aims to create community stakeholders through a centralised point for accessing information and promoting collaboration.
Key features of the KAP, as well as connecting stakeholders, include access to a range of campaigns, media, publications and data on NCDs.
As a community driven platform, the KAP relies on participation and support from stakeholders. The future direction of the KAP is therefore guided by what the community wants and needs.
The website is available at www.who.int/KAP where a brief animation greets all users, giving an overview of the KAP.
