The submission period for research abstracts and proposals for symposia, workshops and post-graduate courses to be considered for the 47th Union World Conference on Lung Health is now open, with a submission deadline of 22 March 2016.

The conference will be held in Liverpool, United Kingdom, from 26 to 29 October 2016 with the theme of “Confronting Resistance: from Fundamentals to Innovations”. Interested persons are welcome to submit ideas for sessions relating to TB, HIV, tobacco control and adult and child lung health. Submissions from members of civil society are encouraged, as well as sessions about public health interventions, advocacy initiatives and community-based and faith-based programmes.

WHO: Any interested person may submit a proposal for a session or an abstract; Union membership is not required.

WHAT: All proposed sessions and abstracts must be related to TB, HIV, adult and child lung health or tobacco control and the subject tracks as detailed on the website.

HOW: Please read the guidelines for abstracts and sessions carefully before submitting.

KIndly note: The Union is committed to promoting person-centred, non-stigmatising language in conference abstracts and presentations, and therefore requests that submitters follow the guidance laid out in the Stop TB Partnership’s publication, United to end TB: Every word counts.

Those who need assistance in preparing their abstracts are invited to work with The Union's Abstract Mentor Programme. This programme is designed to support new and less experienced researchers who hope to present their work at the conference.
