New site created by The Union and Russia's Health and Development Foundation offers resources for smokefree advocates

The Union and its grantee in Russia, the Health and Development Foundation, have launched a new website promoting “ Smokefree Russia” at https://smokefreerussia.ru.  The website was established to help tobacco control activists in Russia promote and enforce smokefree legislation at the national and regional levels. The online resource is designed to allow users to find up-to-date information about tobacco control and smokefree environments in Russia and worldwide easily and quickly.

The website also serves as a useful resource for a whole range of other audiences, including policy-makers, health practitioners, non-governmental and governmental representatives, the media and businesses.

The site provides clustered information on tobacco control and covers topics, such as federal legislation, decrees and guidelines on implementation and enforcement; the latest regional and national developments; lessons learnt from international, national and regional tobacco control campaigns and more.

A free online course is also provided to help educate tobacco control activists. The site provides a platform for webinars with online registration and the capacity to conduct online interactive sessions for regional partners.
