A union of minds: NY's Pace University and The Union offer certificate programmes

Updated:

New York's Pace University and The Union have launched two new professional certificate programmes that draw on their combined strengths. The Health Care Policy and Management and Security Analysis certificate programmes each include 5 courses applicable to a master's degree from Pace.

The certificate programmes are designed for working professionals who have completed an undergraduate degree and who want to enhance their credentials and expand their career opportunities. The current offerings are:

Health Care Policy and Management – designed for students who have backgrounds in fields such as social work, hospital administration, clinical management, human services, nursing and business. Read more

Security Analysis – designed to prepare public and private sector law enforcement, hospital administration, military, fire, public health and other safety and security professionals to respond to and prevent future security attacks using existing resources. Read more

The curriculum for each certificate programme includes 5 courses. Each course combines one week of classroom lectures in Singapore, followed by seven weeks of online study that includes live lectures, question sessions and discussion rooms. The courses are scheduled so that the whole programme can be completed in one year. Students are encouraged to remain part of their starting cohort whenever possible, since this encourages peer relationships and will assist in later career networking.

The courses each carry three academic credits from Pace University that can be applied to a graduate degree at Pace after a student completes the certificate and gains admission into the master's programme.
