The Union Launches Two Free Online Courses on Tuberculosis

Global efforts to combat tuberculosis (TB) face increasing challenges, including funding constraints and the need for scalable training solutions. In response, The Union has launched two new free online courses to strengthen the skills of health professionals worldwide. Both courses are self-paced, fully online, and designed to support clinicians and programme managers in improving TB diagnosis and management.

Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis: From Clinical to Programmatic

Course Highlights:

  • Four core modules plus an optional fifth
  • Interactive content: case studies, quizzes, videos
  • Estimated duration: 10 hours
  • Certificates for each module and the full programme

Chest Radiograph Interpretation for TB Diagnosis

This course strengthens skills in interpreting chest X-rays for TB in adults, children, and people living with HIV. It also addresses post-TB sequelae and explores the role of digital radiography and artificial intelligence in diagnosis.

  • Interactive quizzes and exercises
  • Estimated duration: 8–10 hours
  • Certificate available upon completion

Both courses were developed with contributions from subject matter experts and supported by international partners. They aim to provide practical, evidence-based knowledge to professionals working in TB care and control, at a time when accessible training is more critical than ever.
