The aims and objectives of the Taiwan Anti-Tuberculosis Association
Taiwan Anti-Tuberculosis Association aims to provide support to people with tuberculosis, promote the tuberculosis prevention education, and increase the general public’s knowledge on tuberculosis.
What the Christmas Seal design represents
The theme of this seal is “Healing” and it is designed by Dr. Tai-Shion Lee. It commemorates the 140th anniversary of Robert Koch's discovery of the tubercle bacillus in 1882, the cause of tuberculosis, which led to fundamental advances in knowledge and treatment today. In nature, we can find everything -- both the source of disease and the power of healing. Remarkable human discoveries like Koch's allow us to continue to live in harmony with nature and thrive.
What the Christmas Seal sales support
All the proceeds from fundraising go to support the Directly Observed Treatment Short-Course (DOTS) plan established by Taiwan CDC to provide living subsidies to those underprivileged people with tuberculosis.
The Taiwan Anti-Tuberculosis Association first produced Christmas Seals in 1954.
