Open Access (OA)
IJTLD CRD is fully compliant with the OA policy of Coalition S and articles are made Open Access at the time of online publication. All Open Access articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY), which permits unrestricted reuse, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.
Authors retain full copyright and are welcome to use their article in any way they see fit (e.g., depositing their article in institutional repositories, ResearchGate/Mendeley, or distributing to colleagues as a PDF).
Article processing charge (APC)
There is a charge of €2,000 for Original Articles and Mini-Reviews, whereas the APC for Reviews is €2,500. Editorials, Letters, Case Reports and Correspondence can be made Open Access for €1,500. These charges are to cover the costs of peer review, copy editing, typesetting, publishing and hosting.
The Union is a not-for-profit organisation and at times we can provide a discount to authors in low income countries but this is the exception and not the rule. Please note, we support the IJTLD as a free-to-publish model for authors in LMICs.
Colour Figures
There is no charge for colour figures, but authors are asked to be mindful of how colours impact on printing quality and reproduction.
Supplementary Data
Supplementary Data should be carefully prepared as it will not be copyedited by IJTLD staff. Callouts in the body text should refer to Supplementary Data Figure S1, or Supplementary Data Table S1 etc. This should be submitted in PDF format at the time the original version of the manuscript is submitted for peer review, clearly labelled Supplementary Data. There is no charge for Supplementary Data in IJTLD CRD.
Excess Page Charges
Authors are required to meet our Journal requirements for article length as set out in the Instructions for Authors. Additional tables and figures can be included as online Supplementary Data to ensure there is no need for additional pages. However, if an article exceeds these requirements, an excess page charge of 380€ per page is applied for each page over 6 journal pages for Original articles and 10 pages for Reviews.
